Getting into my dress was easy - everything fit perfect. The lace on the bottom brought in the vintage feel I was going for and the modern top was just the perfect amount to make the two work well together. There's a star to the right of the top portion just for grandma. It's almost like it was meant to be mine. Putting it on - well besides making me a little nervous that the time had finally come made me think back to the day I bought it.

My Mom, Aunt Karla, and Cousin/Bridesmaid Kayla were all with me when I bought this dress. I was already a little bit behind schedule as far as the recommended "ordering time" for your dress but I was determined to find the right one, rather than just buy one for the sake of having it in time. I lucked out - this dress was a floor model so besides a few alterations it was pretty much set. I debated it in front of the mirror for a long time. Although it was what I thought the perfect dress for me, it was more than any of us had expected to spend. "Beyond our budget" as they say. So I did the only thing I could think of - picked up the phone and called my dad. (the most reasonable, down to earth person I've ever met) to help me make the decision. "Is ___ too much to spend on a dress that I absolutely love?" and of course being his only daughter he said "If you love it, get it." and that's why I love him :)

Anyways - back to the story. I put on my dress quickly, we got a few photos and it was now time for one of the toughest decisions of the day: what necklace to wear :). Now you might think, wait a minute: Kortnee wasn't wearing a necklace in any of the pictures I saw. Well, that's true. and that's because after much diliberation we decided against a necklace. Each one I liked my bridesmaids said no, and each one they liked, I said no. But the dress stood fine on its own and with the headpiece I picked out we decided a necklace was just too much.

After reading that last paragraph you also might be thinking: that was a major decision for her? a whole wedding and your gripping over a necklace? jeeze. Well that's because it was honestly one of the only "major" decision that came up during the day. Pretty awesome right? (That's why I am so incredibly grateful things went off the way they did!) So I thought it'd be fun to share to give you an idea of how the day really went.

Ok so dress is on, shoes are on, headpiece is on, necklace is off, and we are ready to go!!!!

(P.S. The boys were getting ready in the next room over this whole time.)
