I realized how time is the most important gift we can be given because this weekend I actually had time to do stuff! And not just rush to get projects done either - time for relaxing, shopping, family, planning, and crafting. What a wonderful weekend!

I made 2 Christmas decor projects this weekend.

While my craftsmanship could be a little better I still think they turned out ok for my first time trying this technique!

Here's how:
-Take 3 empty bottles - these can be any shape/size, I used 3 empty wine bottles because I liked the shape
clean labels off of them (I found it helpful to run under warm water while using the rough side of a sponge) and set aside to dry.
-Once dry take a hot glue gun and write out the words or make the shape you'd like to appear on the bottles - this will give the text a raised look.
-I taped off a wide stripe around the bottle before painting, but you can do whatever pattern you chose. I've also seen people paint the whole bottle - I'm guessing spray paint would work best for an even coat.
-I used 2 coats of paint for both the white and red and looking at it now I am realizing it probably could have used a third. But it just depends upon how much light you'd like to come through.
-Then I hot glued some yarn we had lying around to make the borders and strung some mini lights into the jars.

That's it!

There's lots of variations you can do to customize this project but I think it made a perfect little Christmas decoration!
