In order to take full advantage of the time we had with our photographer we opted to take group pictures BEFORE the ceremony. Traditionally, people say it's bad luck to see the bride before the wedding. Well screw tradition. :) We decided to do something that's actually pretty common & more practical these days: a first look.

Basically we staged a place to "see each other for the first time" in wedding attire (ie. dress & tux)  and had the boys, the girls, parents, and pretty much everyone in our bridal party & closest family and friends except me stand out on the golf course, all waiting for me to make my "grand entrance."

Chris was facing the opposite direction at first before turning around - our photographer got a few great shots of Chris waiting in anticipation and me standing behind him wondering what he would think when he turned around.

Then we counted down from 3, Chris turned around and we walked towards each other in awe. Chris's face was priceless. He looked like a giddy little boy getting his first skateboard. My first thoughts were "wow, my skater boy cleans up nice!" and realized what a truly handsome man I was marrying. The brown tux was perfect and the yellow flower on his lapel made the color pop in just the right amount. I think we stared at each other for a couple of long minutes with wide smiles and eyes filled with happiness. The first words to come out of his mouth were: "You're so beautiful."

This was one of my very favorite moments of the day.

(I just love how giddy he is in so many of the pictures when he first turned around. Every time I look at them I laugh and smile.)
