I'm going to sum it up to a couple words: Blissful Blur. It was all beyond wonderful from the start of the day to the end, but man did it fly by once everything started!
We started the morning off at the salon and we all got our hair done and I got my makeup done. For me it was weird. Although I enjoyed getting pampered I've never been a "girly girl" so it was weird having someone tousle my hair and cake on the makeup. But I do remember the makeup lady telling me "your so patient you must have done this before." and then I remembered all of the years of skating and "elephant snot" for your hair and all those people poking and prodding at my hair and face so I guess I am used to it in a way, just not for this type of occasion!
The salon was quick and painless and it was on to the next thing before I knew it. Our next stop was Lake Windsor to put final touches on the decorations. It was a little chilly but no signs of rain so we hung a few twine balls around the ceremony site and put out our lovely K+C sign. Our photographer got there early so we ended up all heading over to A&W for some lunch.
At that point I had no idea what Chris was doing or where he was but I could tell by our brief phone conversation he was stressed. Which of course is to be expected when your about to get married infront of 200+ people. But I didn't let it bother me. My bridesmaids, parents, and brothers and I all enjoyed a lovely greasy meal at A&W, got a few cute photos then headed back to Windsor to get changed and ready to take pictures.
As we left A&W Chris and his brother pulled in so we saw each other briefly but I was ready to go get my dress on and get ready before getting stressed out.
When we got back to Lake Windsor there was a lot going on - close friends of the family, and some of our family were slowly making their way in but we were trying hard to finish the last minute touches on the tables and reception room. The boys had arrived and were ready to put tuxes on and...
just like that it was time to get the dress on.
