This week if you didn't catch my post from earlier this week, Chris and I took a trip to IKEA in Shaumburg on our mini-vacation. It was so inspiring! We picked up some odds and ends stuff - a new lamp, a neat paper holder for Sydnee and some other fun stuff. But my favorite purchase had to be fabric. I've always enjoyed crafting - from when I was little learning to cross stitch with my grandma to now where I like to sew and create things for gifts and around the house. It's an amazing feeling creating something from scratch with your hands and I think it helps keep me grounded and balanced as a graphic designer and in my life.
I absolutely love vintage fabrics. Big patterns with a wide variety of vintage colors are my favorite. And I really enjoy experimenting with it. Whether it be as simple as a headband all the way to making clothes for Barbie dolls I really just enjoy creating new things. One thing I am trying to work on is my craftsmanship but I know that will come with practice, and for now it's all just for fun ;).
