This weekend we decided to take a mini-vacation (I've got 4 days off & Chris has 3). Chris did a wonderful job planning a trip down to Shaumburg, IL for the night to hit up IKEA and a few other fun places. I really had a great time - and Chris did a great job planning the trip and surprising me for Valentine's Day (even though we didn't really plan it around that at all).
Sunday was so relaxing. No obligations or time constraints made for a very peaceful day. We started the day off at IKEA where I found tons of inspiration for the wedding and started thinking about ideas for our house that we will hopefully one day own. We picked up some new end tables and some other cute decorative items for our apartment. After that we checked in to our hotel - very nice and cozy with a cute little pool. We decided to check out Woodfield mall because even though neither of us are very big mall shoppers we wanted to check out Urban, Vans, Anthropologie, and some of the other stores that you don't find in every mall. We really just window shopped - which was nice because there was no worry about how much money we could or couldn't spend. After the mall we went to a few Targets and rented some movies. It was so nice just relaxing and enjoying time together :).
We headed back late this afternoon after stopping at Gameworks (awesome games, horrible food & service), Jamba Juice, and another Target on the way home. Tonight we just sort of took it easy - I made some dinner at home and we may go watch a movie eventually. A nice mellow night in!
