2011 was an amazing year. As my husband would say: "The Packers won the superbowl, and we got married." As I would say: "I married the love of my life and oh yeah, the Packers won the superbowl." ;) And that pretty much sums it up.

The year was filled with so many amazing things. We both started new careers in our field which we are currently extremely happy with, we successfully planned a wedding and got married, Sydnee started kindergarten, and we've hit the ground running with our photography and videography.

7 months into my new job, I love it. I posted a couple weeks back about the commute being the worst part of my job but as always we have found a short term solution of carpooling a few days a week until our lease is up and will most likely be moving closer to both of our jobs in the summer. My husband is about 4 months into his new job and he loves it as well. Last year this time we were most likely just finishing up a day at the store, dealing with grumpy customers or complaining the whole way home about how stressful of a day we had. Now the only work conversation that happens is usually all good. So we are both extremely happy with where we are at.

The majority of this year was spent planning our wedding. I've talked about it in a lot of other posts so I'll spare you another long explanation but I'll just say that it was a very intensive project, filled with emotions, stress, long nights, and many many hours of planning. But our wedding went off without a hitch and everything turned out wonderfully. We both had the time of our lives and could not have asked for more. Thank you again to all of our friends and family who came!

And if you read my last post you have seen a sample of my photography work this year. The beginning of the year I set a goal for myself: to photograph more people. Well I definitely have reached that goal. In the past 3 months I've done over a dozen photo sessions, helped photograph 2 weddings, and started making plans for an eventual launch of a photography business. In the new year I've already got a couple of sessions booked and Chris & I even booked our first couple weddings together as a husband & wife photo & video team. So I am extremely excited for an official "launch" which will be coming later this year.

I know I've said this many times before but I can't say enough how grateful and blessed I feel right now. My family is continuously showing me their love and support, my friends for all of their help with the wedding and just being there whenever we needed them and of course all of my wonderful photo clients for allowing me some pretty amazing opportunities. But most of all my husband, for always being there for me, for supporting me, and for being my best friend.

It'll be hard for 2012 to top such a great year like 2011 but I am very optimistic about exciting things to come and enjoying our new life together.
