Alright, it's been a few months since I last posted about the wedding and eventually I'm hoping to get through the whole day (I know you're just dying in anticipation ;) ) and really want to sum up what worked/didn't work and planning tips and advice. Here's where I left off last time in case you missed it: Wedding pt. 4.

Sometimes I just need to be inspired in order to take the time to write out in detail about our experience and today over a long brunch my husband & I starting talking about it again, and made a list of our favorite things. So I thought as a segway back to the wedding story I'd try to explain to you the best parts about our day. (Obviously we had a fantastic time so it was hard to pick just a few things but I think when we look back, these are the things that immediately come to mind as things we will remember forever.)

So here they are! Our favorite things:

1. Ceremony:
- Relaxed, fun, short, sweet, giggly, US.
- Saying things like "for goodsies" and "strikeith down"
- Having our good friend marry us.
- Dropkick Murphys
- Non-traditional

2. Venue:
- Look, feel, natural light,
- Beauty with no need for over the top decorations
- Close space, everyone was all together
- Beautiful outdoor ceremony backdrop

3. Our family:
- Having our parents and family so closely involved (although stressful at times) made the experience all the better.
- Could not have made it through without ALL my mom's gracious help and my dad's level-headed advice.
- Seeing Sydnee run around like crazy because of all the happiness she was feeling that day and how exciting everything was for her!

4. Kid's tables:
Kept kids entertained so mom & dad could relax and have fun!

5. Having friends & loved ones involved:
- Officiant, musician, photographer, readers, toast.
- Made things more personal, wasn't awkward having someone who barely knows you follow you around to take pictures the whole day, etc.

6. Having mostly family & a couple of closest friends stand up:
- WAY less drama, because they are family or like family they are pretty much willing to do whatever you need without making you feel bad

7. An even mix:
- Of family & friends on the guest list
- Catching up with good friends
- Meeting new family

8. Rehearsal Dinner:
- RC Helicopters & Nerf Guns.

9. First Dances:
- Dancing with my husband to "our song"
- Dancing with my daddy

10.  Mini-Polaroid camera:
- Was a hit with all the guests
- Having a memory of candid shots
- Something people could take with them to remember.

11. Cupcakes:
- My mom worked so hard on these and they turned out perfect! We got lots of compliments and going through a local bakery saved us a ton!

12. Bouquets:
- One thing that really nailed my vision when I looked back at some inspiration boards that I had made they matched pretty perfectly.

I'll elaborate more on these in coming posts but for now here's some visuals of our favorite things:
